Are you a highly skilled and detail-oriented Commercial Real Estate Paralegal looking to advance your career in a supportive, boutique law firm environment? Our firm, located in the heart of Houston's Galleria area, is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal to join our growing team. This role provides the opportunity to work on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions in a collaborative, client-focused practice.
Position Summary:
The Senior Commercial Real Estate Paralegal will play a critical role in supporting attorneys with all aspects of commercial real estate transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing, and development. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in commercial real estate law, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage complex processes from start to finish. This is a full-time, onsite position in Houston, TX.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Transaction Support: Assist attorneys in all phases of commercial real estate transactions, including drafting, reviewing, and revising transactional documents such as purchase agreements, lease agreements, and loan documents.
+ Due Diligence: Conduct and organize due diligence tasks, including title and survey reviews, environmental reports, and zoning analyses, ensuring all requirements are met.
+ Closing Coordination: Prepare closing checklists, manage timelines, and serve as a liaison between clients, attorneys, and third parties to ensure seamless closings.
+ Entity Formation and Maintenance: Assist with corporate entity formation and the preparation of organizational documents required for real estate deals, including resolutions and operating agreements.
+ Title and Survey Review: Review and summarize title commitments, endorsements, and surveys; prepare title objection letters and coordinate resolution of title issues.
+ Document Preparation: Draft legal descriptions, amendments, closing statements, and escrow instructions; assist with the preparation and filing of documents for commercial lending and borrowing.
+ Administrative Support: Maintain and organize physical and electronic files, ensuring compliance with firm policies, and support other administrative tasks as necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications:
+ Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of commercial real estate paralegal experience in a law firm or in-house legal department.
+ Education: Bachelor's degree and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-accredited institution preferred.
+ Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with legal research tools and real estate databases. Knowledge of FormEase, iManage, or similar platforms is a plus.
+ Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
+ Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clients and team members.
+ Knowledge: Advanced understanding of commercial real estate transactions, title and survey review, and entity formation. Familiarity with Houston-area real estate processes is highly desirable.
+ Certification: Notary Public certification is a plus.
