Sr. Planner / Buyer

The Sr. Buyer / Planner will support the purchasing/procurement strategies to ensure compliance with policies and procedures and optimize the inventory levels. The Sr. Buyer / Planner will be the liaison with Life Cycle Management team to ensure supplier and components changes and project resolution in a timely management. Develop service agreements and procure new suppliers to ensure continuity of supply and meet current and future business needs.

Primary responsibilities are to:

1.Define strategies and tactical plans with LCM (Life Cycle Management), Supplier Quality, Quality, Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain to ensure proper resolution for components and/or suppliers related activities as:

a: Supplier Change Notification and Action Plans

b. Supplier Resolution Action Plans

c. New Supplier evaluation and Implementation

d. New Projects e. New Procedures Implementation and/or Standards

2.Purchasing Activities:

•Lead the purchasing activities for components and/or category assign to this role including the following activities:

•Processes Purchase Orders, which includes contacting suppliers.

•Expedites Raw Material and M.R.O. Purchase Orders from requisitioners. •Coordinates and sends mail of documents, samples, returns, etc. via Federal Express or other shipping methods.

•Reviews acknowledgments of orders expedited to assure compliance with specified delivery dates and prices to support manufacturing schedules and meet corporate standards.

•Contacts vendors/suppliers to resolve discrepant material aspects. This includes the preparation of shipping discrepant material samples, arrangements for corrective action by the vendor/supplier and provides all necessary documents and information related to these.

•Deals with lower cost and contracts with approved vendors.

•Master file input lead-times and price control in the ERP system.

•Maintains and updates approved vendor file, supplier audit and vendor master list.

3. Evaluate total spend per category of goods and services and establish sourcing strategies and approaches to simplify processes, reduce risk and uncertainty, and reduce the total cost of ownership.

4. Lead and/or collaborate to initiate Requests for Proposals (RFP) including quotes and alternatives for capital equipment, goods, and services.

5. Collaborates with development groups to make good design and sourcing decisions and to meet project schedules and business plans.

6. Lead new projects assigned as part of Supply Chain Continuous Improvement initiatives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS – Education and Experience

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position.

Bachelor degree or equivalent with 5+ years of experience, Master degree with 3+ years of experience, Doctoral degree with 0-2 years of experience

Work experience of MPS and MRP, material handling, and computerized systems

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems

Ability to analyze planning and material procurement in a rapid manufacturing environment.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills as well as negotiation skills Fully Bilingual
