Sr. Planner (Distribution Planning)

Position Summary:
Plans, schedules, coordinates and/or monitors final approval of products through the complete production cycle. May be responsible for the following activities: master scheduling, production planning/coordination, distribution planning, dispatching, co-ordinating with warehouse team, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking.
Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs and other related duties may be assigned.

Applies core knowledge and understanding of area of specialization to provide solutions in creative and effective ways.Assesses unusual circumstances and uses sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify cause and suggest variations in approach.Works on assignments of diverse scope where information is limited and problem solving requires adaptation of existing techniques.Enhances internal and external working relationships and networks with senior partners within area of expertise.Adapts style to differing audiences and often advises others on difficult matters that require persuasion.Work is done independently and is reviewed at critical points.Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select best course of action.Key Responsibilities:
Create, maintain and execute detailed production and distribution plans to meet customer requirements, optimize inventory.Develop and implement strategies to optimize safety stock minimize inventory obsolescenceMonitor and take necessary actions for backlog report and optimal finished goods inventory levels.Notify management and Customer Support of any changes to plan that will impact scheduled shipmentsParticipate in Supply Chain portion of Change Management process including master data updates owned by DRPCoordinate phase in and phase out of materials to minimize obsolescenceReview, resolve and escalate issues that impact plan completionSupport new product launches by managing completion of supply chain activities that must occur to ensure initial builds of inventory for launch and sustaining availabilityParticipate in Engineering Change Order review, approval and implementation of material phase-in and phase-outEnsure data integrity of master data elements which drive production and MRP (safety stock, cycle times, BOM accuracy, effectivity dates)Manage timely execution of MRP actions to ensure uninterrupted supply to customerTroubleshoot transactional records to resolve inventory discrepanciesBuild and maintain methodology and tools for ongoing performance analysisMonitor supply chain key performance indicators, publish performance reports, perform root cause analysis, implement action plans, and strive for continuous improvement (plan vs actual, internal demand, process flow, expiry, shortages, etc)Provide training support for new personnelProvide planning system knowledge support for site and affiliatesCreate Ad hoc reports/analysis
