Northrop Grumman Space Sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Engineer Ground Technical Lead to support Tactical Space Systems Division in their development, integration, deployment, and sustainment of satellite ground software. This position is located onsite on our Dulles, VA campus. Cross-coast collaboration will require occasional work hours to shift to accommodate West Coast meetings.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide hands on technical leadership and guidance to program team, ensuring alignment with project goals and industry best practices.
Collaborate with product owners to prioritize features and deliverables.
Interface with customer(s) internal and external
Lead will be expected to be a self-starter capable of making decisions with overall project budget and schedule in mind
Configuration of ground segment software
Software Enhancements as directed by customer change requests or mission needs
Support the installation of new ground segment software in operational, development and test environments

Basic Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) field with 8 years of experience or a Masters with 6 years of experience
Demonstrated software development & systems engineering experience
Experience working across organization boundaries to achieve success
Demonstrated experience in technical problem solving, to include decomposition, root cause analysis, solution development, implementation, and monitoring
Significant experience with designing, building, and deploying of software products
DoD Top Secret clearance with active SCI at time of application.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience developing satellite ground software with any of the following applications for spacecraft missions
Experienced with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Salary Range: $137,400.00 - $206,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
