Northrop Grumman is seeking a motivated professional to join our team as Senior Principal Military Trainer / MCTP Staff Planner – Intel WfF, HICOM Facilitator. The location of this position is at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Mission Command Training Program (MCTP) trains Army Corps, Divisions, and Brigades in the Army Mission Command Systems and Operations Process. This is done thru an integrated simulation to replicate a robust Operating Environment (OE). Units conduct exercises in Large Scale Combat Operations with all appropriate operational variables that would be present in a theater of operations in order to develop efficiency in the operations process.

Plans Team Responsibilities:

The Plans Team serves as the integrating cell to develop a comprehensive and coherent scenario that challenges each training audience at echelon, across all War Fighting Functions. This is done by conducting Exercise Design thru the Military Decision Making Process (MDMP) to produce scenarios, BLUFOR Higher Headquarters (HICOM) Orders, OPFOR Higher Headquarters Orders, and any special instructions to the Exercise Control Group. The HICOM Facilitator Team serves as an imbedded team to the exercise Higher Headquarters (HICOM) to facilitate scenario understanding, battle rhythm events, and critical linkages between the exercise control group and the HICOM.

Conduct mission analysis of higher headquarters guidance (CSA, FORSCOM, CAC)
- Integrate training audience training objective into a coherent scenario
- Review training audience plans and orders
- Coordinate and synchronizing warfighting functions in all plans and orders
- Develop plans, orders, branches, and sequels
- Write HICOM orders for each respective Warfighter ExerciseDuring the ELC (Exercise Life Cycle), works with EXCON (Exercise Control) to plan, prepare, and serve as a conduit between Scenario Design / MCTP and the HICOMDuring execution, integrates with the HICOM, at the HICOM location and interacts directly with respective primary staff officers to operationally steer the exerciseEnable HICOM understanding, processes, and inputs to achieve desired training conditionsWorks directly with CUOPS, and respective Operations Groups to ensure that the HICOM is providing the appropriate inputs and stimulus to training audiences

Individual Responsibilities:

Planner – Intel WfF / HICOM Facilitator responsible for enabling scenario development, planning, and orders development to stimulate specific exercise training needs and ensures scenario understanding, battle rhythm events, and critical linkages.

Facilitate the respective WFX HICOMOperationally apply current Army and Joint Doctrine to develop WfF appropriate concepts for respective scenariosWrite Orders and WfF Annexes at the Corps and Land Component level to direct operations based on the developed conceptProduce HICOM Orders and/or appropriate directives including the WCOPFOR Supreme High Command OPORD.Integrate additional WfF personnel as required to facilitate planning and executionSet the conditions for scripted stimulus and injects by foreshadowing problem sets in the in ordersIncorporate best practices into the planning process and products that provide training audiences an example to followAnticipate, account for, and respond to WfF specific RFIs associated with the scenario and orderDevelop and present appropriate training to inform exercise support staff (MCTP, HICOM, Exercise Control Group) about the scenario and ordersCoordinate with adjacent divisions, Operations Groups, and organizations as directedAttend weekly Exercise Planning Team (EPT) meetings for respective exercises to facilitate common understanding


Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree with 8 years’ experienceU.S. Army Command and General Staff College or service equivalentU.S. Military service as a Field Grade Officer (COL, LTC), specifically with Intel background and experienceFamiliar with current Army and Joint doctrineMust possess active DoD Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree with 6 years of experienceU.S. Army War College or service equivalentMastery of current Army and Joint doctrineMust possess active DoD Secret ClearanceShould have experience as an OCT (Observer, Coach, Trainer) and as a WFX participantLeadership experience in the Army CTC program, preferably MCTP

Salary Range: $89,100.00 - $133,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
