About the Role

You will be a technical leader, driving the architecture, development, and evolution of our Workday’s mobile applications (iOS and/or Android). This role requires a deep understanding of mobile development best practices, a proven track record of delivering high-quality applications, and the ability to mentor and guide other engineers. You will play a meaningful role in crafting the future of our mobile platform and products and impacting millions of users.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and architecture of complex mobile features, ensuring scalability, performance, and maintainability.

Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in Swift/Kotlin/Objective-C/Java/Cross-Platform Frameworks as applicable.

Bring others along with you, as you communicate decisions and challenges, mentor junior and mid-level developers, and consistently help us hit the next bar of excellence

Conduct thorough code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to best practices.

Stay up-to-date with the latest mobile technologies and trends, and champion the adoption of new and innovative solutions.

Proactively identify and resolve complex technical issues.

Implement and maintain robust testing strategies, including unit, integration, and UI testing.

Participate in the release process, ensuring timely and high-quality releases.

About You

Basic Qualifications

10+ years of experience in mobile development, with a strong focus on iOS and/or Android.

Deep understanding in at least one of the Mobile Development Languages (Swift/Kotlin/Objective-C/Java/Cross-Platform Frameworks)

Strong understanding of mobile architecture patterns (e.g., MVVM, MVP, MVI)

Prior experience with any Workday product development and metadata based generated UI

Familiarity with CI/CD pipeline development tools like Gradle.

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Other Qualifications

Proven experience with mobile UI frameworks and libraries.

Proficiency in using mobile development tools (e.g., Xcode, Android Studio).

Experience with RESTful APIs, web services

Knowledge of mobile performance optimization techniques.

Experience with testing frameworks and methodologies

Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).

Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide other engineers.

Demonstrated ability to work closely with Product and leadership to influence and inform roadmaps

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A genuine passion for mobile development and creating outstanding user experiences.

Test driven development skills

Understanding of Web Frontend Development

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things.
