Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Engineer Software – JEMINI Integration SME to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO.

Position Overview:

The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives.

C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.

This position is a fast-pace, dynamic environment near Colorado Springs at Schriever Space Force Base supporting GAITS, Integration team. Integrate JEMINI Lab test suites in our development lab.

Troubleshooting: Proficient in troubleshooting methodsVirtualized Environments: Working knowledge and software testing experienceSystem Integration: Experience in the integration of system components within a test environmentSecurity Design: Familiarity with virtualized systems and security design and implementationCustomer Interaction: Frequent internal and external customer contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projectsExpertise: Demonstrates a wide application of principles, theories, and concepts in their fieldProblem Solving: Provides solutions to a wide range of difficult problems with imaginative and thorough solutionsDirection and Review: Works under general direction, with results reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Computer Science, Technology, Engineering, Software Engineering or Mathematics) discipline preferred from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master’s STEM degree in a related discipline and 6 years of experience, or a PhD and 4 years of experience, or 9 years of related experience instead of a degree may be consideredApplicants must have a current active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearanceDoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND) is required to startAbility and willingness to travel up to 10% to support business needsExperienced Software Tester/IntegratorHands-on experience with DoD integration processesFamiliarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies and automated test toolsStrong skills in Linux and scripting (bash, python)Automation and Implementation understandingAssist software development personnel with the investigation and resolution of issuesDevelop configurations to support test and prototypes of developing systemsCreate and modify scripts to perform data analysis of input, internal, and output message dataTroubleshoot both test and prototype issuesDevelop troubleshooting procedures and work-around documentsReview and provide feedback on system specifications, development, test, and network documents as necessaryRepresent the Integration teamAutomated scripting to configure and maintain remote hosts

Preferred Qualifications:

Current and active in-scope DoD-Issued Top Secret clearance is highly desiredExperience developing scripts in AnsibleKnowledge of Containerized Virtual EnvironmentsExperience with Windows Server and PowerShell scriptingExperience setting up, configuring, and maintaining databasesExperience in Agile work environments and familiarity with the Product Owner Role

Salary Range: $124,900.00 - $187,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
