Customer acquisition is core to American Express’ growth strategy and business performance and is one of the company’s largest investments. Enabling effective delivery of digital channel marketing and acquisition experiences is critical to finding and engaging with customers and helping them navigate to products that best fit their needs. The Enterprise Acquisition Products & Platforms team enables, develops, & maintains American Express’ acquisition, onboarding, and early tenure marketing activity & experiences. We support all lines of business and markets in which American Express acquires customers. We are looking for a Senior Product Designer to support the Enterprise Design & Research team. The right candidate will have a deep knowledge of design thinking, and a proven track record of successfully consulting and partnering with product owners, product designers, user researchers, content strategists and writers, accessibility experts, technology professionals and business stakeholders. **Organizational context** The Senior Product Designer will report to the Enterprise Acquisition Director of Product Design for US consumer and commercial shopping experiences. As a part of the team, this person will work closely with colleagues across London, Phoenix, and New York time zones. This position is based in New York City, New York, where the majority of US consumer and commercial shop colleagues are located. This senior product designer must reside in the New York City area and is expected to be in the office a minimum of three days a week. **Role Description** + Creates user-centered experiences and interfaces for products and solutions which improves end-to-end user journeys. + Develops the overall design and specifications for creating and enhancing the experience and functionality of user interfaces for company products. + Uses design tools to create storyboards, wireframes, prototypes, information architecture diagrams and user journey maps for demonstrations and user testing. + Produces high-fidelity designs for implementation by development teams. + Analyzes user research, business insights and other data to continuously improve customer experiences. Reviews proposed product changes or enhancements for compliance and alignment with desired user experience design and satisfaction standards and suggests improvements. + Creates and maintains user interface (UI) resources such as content templates, samples and guidelines, to streamline the design process for designers and developers. **Key Responsibilities** + Educates and guides stakeholders on identifying user needs and how to form solid hypotheses and concept exploration (can include running workshops). + Presents design strategy and decisions to peers, partners and cross-functional leadership. + Identifies the right artifacts to create based on project needs and timeline and delivers high quality artifacts such as wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity specifications. Sets the vision for the user experience. + Develops understanding and empathy for users through user-centered methodologies, external analysis, research, and data + Actively improves design process and workflow for broader design organization. Contributes to and actively improves design systems and UX patterns. + Collaborates closely with product managers, engineers, design leads and other cross-functional partners to define project requirements and deliver against them + Actively engages with other designers to exchange ideas, share skills, and provide mentorship for teammates + Mentors associate designers and peers and may have a direct report + Leverages design tools to deliver artifacts, drive collaboration with cross-functional partners, and build efficiencies into broader design team workflow. **Qualifications** + Has at least 5 years of hands-on experience in or with a product design organization + Has expert knowledge of Figma + Demonstrates a deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies, research, and processes + Shares solutions and strategy to problem-solving initiatives in an engaging way + Is a proactive and energetic communicator, with attention to detail **Skills** + Designing for accessibility + Journey mapping + Design thinking + Product strategy + Prototyping + Requirements gathering + Wireframing **Qualifications** Salary Range: $90,000.00 to $165,000.00 annually bonus benefits The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition.
