The Kiefel Production Technician IIis a Salary Non-Exempt position which contributes to our mission of saving and sustaining lives by supplying, operating and maintaining a set of Kiefel Machines in addition to inspecting and performing quality checks on the finished bags as necessary. Kiefel Production Technician will be the primary resource for identifying and correcting any maintenance issues on the Kiefel.
Act as a SME in machine operations and Kiefel processes.Perform routine and preventative maintenance such as alignment adjustments, replacement of machine parts or belts, cleaning and lubrication while supporting Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).Investigate, identify and correct or escalate any inefficiency in the machine’s performance.Conduct on-the-job training for Kiefel Production Technicians.Document completed maintenance activity and follow up work orders in Maximo.Load and secure finished product in mobile closets as well as scan containers in to GME (inventory system)Execute a machine changeover (including main seal die) when necessary. Certification must be received to complete associated task.Test, inspect and package Inter-Plant Shipping Orders (IPSO).Perform and document scheduled cleaning activities.Notify the supervisor and take appropriate action if any safety, quality, mechanical or discrepancy issues occur.Take a leadership role in sustaining a clean and safe work area using 6S principles including maintaining and securing provided toolsParticipate on teams that help generate ideas in process improvements to equipment.Learn, understand and apply rigorous quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).What You'll Bring
Must have basic English written and oral communication skills adequate to communicate with other team members.Understand verbal and written safety and quality instructions and read and comprehend written work instructions including words and drawings.Must be able to perform basic mathematics.Will need to be able to understand the complex mechanical and electrical aspects of the Kiefel machine in order to maintain and make the necessary repairs.Proficient in how to use measurement tools (Caliper, Microscope, Micrometer, Ruler, Taper Gauge, etc.) as well as basic hand tools.Basic computer skillsHigh School Diploma, GED or equivalent.Must be at least 18 years of age.2-3 years of Production Technician or manufacturing experience with duties including preventative maintenance, machine troubleshooting, etc.Physical Requirements
The ability to push/pull and lift/carry up to 50 pounds and stand/walk continuously throughout the shift.Pass the P.I.V. physical.Normal visual acuity.Ability to squat, climb, reach above shoulder level, reach at or below shoulder level, kneel, twist and bend at the neck, twist and bend at the waist and balance.We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a pay rate of $52,000.00 annually.
