Sr. Program/Product Manager

Key missions of the position:
- The Program Manager is accountable to successfully develop product strategy, obtain business approvals as required,
execute their developments on time & on budget and drive reliability improvements, in accordance with Wabtec
Policies, looking for profitability improvement, ensuring quality of execution and Customer satisfaction.
- He/she reports to the Site Project Director and delivers the products/projects with the direct support of cross-function
teams and the Project Management Office, if applicable, as per organisation.
- The Program Manager is responsible to apply the Project Management Processes and the applicable tools for the
implementation and is accountable for the strict and efficient application thereof. He/she works within the guidelines,
policies and mission of the organization and will be responsible for his/her specific projects as assigned.

Main responsibilities:
 Product Strategy, Vision & Roadmap:
- Develop and communicate a clear product vision and strategy aligned with the company's goals. Conduct market
research / coordinate with Sales team to identify trends, opportunities, and customer needs.
- Create and maintain a prioritized product roadmap that balances short-term deliverables with long-term strategic
goals.
- Analyse competitive landscape and market dynamics to position products effectively and drive growth.
- Create buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key partners.
 Product Competitiveness:
- Own product cost and drive competitiveness across products aligning with company’s financial objectives.
- Analyse sales & cost data from ERP, understand and effectively use for cost reduction, identification of areas of
opportunity.
- Drive product margin improvement and support Sales in order intake.
 Product Industrialization & Localization:
- Identify new products for localization to improve product/project margins.
- Prepare business cases for new products and drive approval by sponsors/Business Leadership.
- Lead & drive industrialization, localization of new products.
 Product Performance:
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success, analyze product performance, and implement
improvements based on data-driven insights.
- Drive product reliability improvement; coordinate with reliability teams to ensure continuous reliability/performance
measurements and actions to improve as required.
- Drive warranty cost reduction through reliability improvements, timely design improvement & other solution
implementation.
 Project Execution:
- Own overall project management and drive Customer satisfaction, QCD of the projects.
- Work closely with cross-function team to ensure timely delivery & launch of product/project.
- Financial reporting against the projects/products, drive risks/opportunities/CM improvement initiatives.
- Keep leaders updated on progress, roadblocks, and potential solutions.
 Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with sales, engineering, quality, operation teams to ensure cohesive
product development and successful launches.
 Customer Engagement: Engage with customers, as and when required, and stakeholders to validate products and
ensure timely deliveries.
 Leadership & Mentorship: Lead and mentor junior product/project managers and team members, fostering a culture
of collaboration and continuous improvement.

Education and Professional Experience
Must Have:
- Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from reputed University along with MBA from reputed
institution.
- 15+ years of overall experience with 5+ years in product or program management.
- Experience owning/driving product roadmap strategy & definition and end-to-end product delivery.
- Experience of leading cross-function teams to deliver meeting Customer requirements.
- Experience managing technical products and contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions, strategy
related to a product.
- Good communication skill in English - across different geographical regions - both written and verbal
- Clear understanding of product/project financials with sales, costs and P&L impacts.
Preferable:
- Working with teams across geographies (Europe, USA, Australia etc).
- Experience of working in a railway and/or automobile industry.
- Working in other functions such as Sourcing, Engineering, Project Management etc.
