The Sr. Project Design Manager is the lead of a team of design professionals. They are responsible for overseeing the entire design process from concept to completion. This role requires a mastering of architectural design principles, Revit software, project management methodologies, and effective team leadership. They are accountable for the quality management of the design deliverables as well as continuing to push innovation. The Sr. Project Design Manager is accountable for optimizing resource allocation to achieve design goals while fostering the professional growth of the design team. This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality design solutions that align with business objectives and exceed client expectations.Job Description
Principle Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of design professionals, providing guidance, feedback, and support on design projects.Foster a collaborative and creative environment within the design team.Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.Develop and manage team project timelines, budgets, standards, varying complexity of projects, and resource allocation.Ensures that all processes and design standards are documented and communicated to the design team and implemented effectivelyCreate, implement and manage Revit templates and design assets. Has a working understanding of DiRoots. Keeps up to date with new software that optimizes design worklows.Educates design professionals on best practices within design software. Manages client design standards; recommends new standards for continued improvements to the client guidelines and process.Reviews test fits and suggests workplace improvements in response to client business needsReview and confirm all preliminary space plans and design concepts are safe, functional, aesthetically appropriate, and applicable code requirements are met.Provide on-going training to team, related to design and program management.Effectively communicate design concepts and decisions to stakeholders at all levels.Working proficiency in managing materials for renderings between Revit and Enscape (or similar software).Stay up-to-date on the latest design trends and technologies.Explore and implement innovative design solutions.Encourage experimentation and creative thinking within the team.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a CIDA or NAAB accredited institution in Architecture or Interior Design. 10+ years of professional design experience5+ years of experience managing and mentoring design team. 7+ years of Revit experience in a professional setting. Demonstrates proficiency in architectural drawings, concepts & designWorking proficiency with the IBC and ADA to review drawings for code complianceExperienced in managing projects of varied scope and complexityExperienced in contributing to budgets, managing vendor relationships and supporting procurement processesProficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite software applicationsExcellent customer service and interpersonal relationship skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAble to build strong relationships with internal and external partners to deliver effective servicesStrong oral, written and presentation skillsAssumes ownership of requests in order to ensure successful completionStrong attention to detail and qualityAbility to handle concurrent projects with minimal supervision and directionWillingness to travel (minimal travel expected)Cushman & Wakefield also provides eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health, vision, and dental insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life, and disability insurance programs, and paid and unpaid time away from work. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on factors such as whether the position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement, the geographic area in which the work will be performed, market pay rates in that area, and the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
