Sr. Project Manager

The GCS Sr. Project Manager ensures that their assigned projects and programs are well managed and that the project goals are delivered via the established OneIT Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Project Management Life Cycle (PMLC).  This role may manage multiple high dollar, high risks projects across brands.  They ensure that the projects meet or exceed expectations in regards to scope, schedule, budget and quality. This position manages relationships with multiple stakeholders across brands.  They identifies risks and issues and drives to resolution and/or escalation.  They collects, measures, reports and communicates project status with a variety of leaders/groups throughout IT and the business.

Essential Functions:

Oversees all aspects of project planning, management and execution (scope, schedule and budget). Encourages collaboration and ensures that all viewpoints are represented and explored. Responsible for maintaining complete and accurate health, status, risk, and financial project data in our portfolio management tool and conducting effective meetings where the objectives are met, and the project is moving forward. Responsible for proactive management in areas such as risks, budget/forecast, dependencies, etc.  Responsible for proactive management in areas such as risks, budget/forecast, dependencies, etc.  Works with the team and leadership to document and resolve people, schedule, technical and financial conflicts. Communicates business and technology issues and solutions. Works with the business to ensure the business case and ROI are documented.  Works with IT to ensure the technical solution meets the business objectives. Ensures the project team creates and maintains appropriate deliverables while following the OneIT PMLC and SDLC. Leads budget creation and management with business, technology and finance. Facilitates contracts and contractual changes and coordinates preparation of proposals, plans, specifications, and financial conditions of vendor contracts where appropriate.    Reports on project status to increase visibility and proactive monitoring. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required. An undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field is preferred. (Master's degree a plus). The candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a technical project or program manager, preferably with a background in security, governance, risk and/or compliance. Formal training and certification in the system development life cycle and project management is preferred. PMP and/or ITIL certification is preferred. Technical certificates such as Microsoft, HP, Oracle, Cisco certification is a plus.  (Preferred) Working in a formal PMO, specifically on IT security, application and/or infrastructure projects as it relates to PCI and SOX compliance controls.  Project planning and execution, change management, and team management in a matrix environment.  Experience managing multi-million dollar and high-risk Security projects such as GRC, PCI, and SOX. Experience working with various Risk and Compliance control frameworks.  Prior experience in implementation products related to GRC, like Qualys and OneTrust. Experience with a variety of technology solutions such as custom development, SaaS, COTS, cloud, digital, mobile, etc.  Experience in the cruise line businesses is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to communicate project status including issues and risks. Good verbal and written communications in U.S. English. Ability to effectively manage a project (scope, schedule, budget). Ability to manage a team to identify and resolve project issues and risks. Holding teams accountable. Managing vendors in the execution of their statement of work and holding them accountable. MS Office Suite, Visio and an enterprise PPM tool such as Daptiv. Application or database development, security, release management, infrastructure and/or quality engineering. Broad knowledge in a variety of technologies such as 1) Windows, Unix, and mainframes 2) application development languages such as .net, C, SQL, JavaScript, Java 3) databases such as Oracle and SQL and tools such as OBIEE, Hyperion, Hadoop, Tableau 4) storage technologies such as Dell Compellent, EMC VNX/Unity/Vmax, 5) networking devices such as core switches, wireless controller, satellites and/or wireless networks such Cisco Access Points.

Physical Demands:  Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time. 

Travel: No or very little travel

Work Conditions:  Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. 

This position is classified as “in-office.”  Because of the nature of the role, employees are required to work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida five days each week.  Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
