Sr. Project Manager - Construction
Overview Responsible for construction and delivery of new stores in accordance with the published pipeline. The Senior Project Manager leads and directs activities including project pre-planning, preconstruction services (budgeting, bid and permit coordination, scheduling) as well as all on-site construction activities. This position is accountable for the on-time and on-budget delivery of new stores which includes successful inspections, certificate of occupancy, closeout, and turnover to Operations. A successful Senior Project Manager maintains strong relations with Developers/Landlords, General Contractors, and partners closely with internal partners necessary to deliver the new store program. Note: We are seeking caniddates on the East Coast. Overview of Responsibilities Directs and coordinates the activities of overall project team to ensure project progresses on schedule and within budget Proactively identifies and solves or elevates to leadership project issues related to cost, schedule, safety, or quality Examines construction documentation including drawings, schedules, and scopes to ensure completeness and accuracy Leads preconstruction coordination with external partners related to entitlements, permitting, GC onboarding, long lead purchasing activities, and preconstruction documentation. Coordinates bid activities to include General Contractor/Key Vendor qualifications and selection recommendations Verifies, and monitors permitting requirements to ensure project start dates can be delivered in accordance with pipeline plan. Directly manages and monitors project work in the field, including periodic site visits and weekly site visit reports In collaboration with Project Coordinators, ensure the equipment delivery schedule (EDS) is managed in real time to ensure project timelines can be met Initiates preliminary budgets for prospective sites, including participation in early due diligence activities Diligently manages change orders and pay applications in accordance with established standards and internal procedures including project close out documentation. Successful turnover of a high-quality new store product to our Operations and Facilities partners. Maintain a “safety first” mindset and acts in an ethical manner in all decision making related to delivery of the new store program Develops and maintains relationships with key partners, subcontractors and vendors to establish value engineering/time/cost savings opportunities Assist in the development and management of internal or external team members to promote job growth and succession planning Create and foster a collaborative environment and successfully work across teams to meet common goals. #LI-CS1 Qualifications 5 to 7 years minimum experience in new store retail construction project management with high preference of supermarket retail or QSR Experience with, or high aptitude of refrigeration systems and cooking equipment. Ability to read and understand real estate leases, construction documents, and AIA construction contracts Experience budgeting and cost management of retail new store construction projects Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level as well as external partners such as Architects, Developers, Landlords and act as the Sprouts representative and deliver against of our core values Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail with analytical methods Ability to multi-task in a high paced – deadline driven environment Experience leading multi-site projects/programs High attention to detail/accuracy/problem solving Experience with Project Management programs such as Procore, Smartsheet Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook and Teams Basic understanding of Project Accounting principles Benefits In addition to a rewarding career, Sprouts offers a comprehensive program to help support you and your family.
