We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team and encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds.  We are seeking a talented and motivated Sr. Project Manager, External Partnership to join our team.  In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing complex projects that involve external partners within the pharmaceutical industry. This role emphasizes leadership, strategic influence, and collaboration to ensure successful project delivery. The position requires a proactive approach to managing relationships, resources, schedules, and financials throughout the development to commercialization lifecycle, with a specific focus on pharmaceutical projects and interfacing with Business Development during due diligence activities.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management: Provide on-site leadership for project teams, including internal and external resources. Ensuring a cross functional team members work together to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones. Foster a collaborative and high-performance within cross functional team environment. Influence and gain buy-in from executives, sponsors, team members, stakeholders, and peers within the pharmaceutical industry. Present project updates and strategic recommendations to executive and senior management. Project Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, and budgets, specifically tailored to pharmaceutical projects. Coordinate with various stakeholders to define project requirements and deliverables. Utilize project management tools to monitor progress, manage risks, and ensure quality standards in pharmaceutical projects. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, adhering to pharmaceutical industry standards. Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools, and techniques. External Partnerships: Manage relationships with external partners, including contract research organizations (CROs), suppliers, and customers ensuring alignment with project goals and organizational objectives. Act as the primary point of contact for external partners, facilitating communication and collaboration. Risk and Issue Management: Drive decision-making processes to ensure project alignment with business goals and regulatory requirements. Provide regular updates on project status, including progress, risks, and issues. Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, with a focus on pharmaceutical industry-specific challenges. Develop and implement mitigation strategies to address potential challenges. Escalate critical issues to senior management as needed. Business Development and Due Diligence: Collaborate with the Business Development team during due diligence activities. Provide project management support and insights to evaluate potential partnerships and acquisitions. Support the negotiation and management of contracts created by Business Development. Ensure thorough assessment and integration planning for new business opportunities.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, or a related field. PMP or equivalent certification preferred.  Degree in a pharmaceutical-related field is a plus. Experience: Minimum of 5-10 years of project management experience, with a focus on external partnerships and leadership roles within the pharmaceutical industry.  Understanding of complex formulations such as inhalation formulations, transdermal, etc. is a plus. Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proven ability to influence and gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in project management tools and software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations and standards. Experience in due diligence and business development activities.
