As our Senior Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the design and management of transportation projects for the Florida Department of Transportation and municipal clients. You'll have the chance to work on projects with a high degree of technical complexity, from the concept stage through detailed design and construction services. Together, we will rise on impactful projects and help advance our business development strategies.
What you’ll be responsible for:
* Serve as the Project Manager for key roadway and bridge design projects, including operational and safety improvements.
* Lead multidisciplinary planning and design teams to develop innovative solutions to complex roadway design projects.
* Provide technical expertise by formulating and developing advanced design concepts, techniques, and standards.
* Ensure effective utilization of engineering personnel and maintain high technical quality.
* Collaborate with business development and marketing teams to secure new projects.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and communities in the Florida to support growth and strategic pursuits of traditional planning, design projects, and alternative delivery opportunities.
This is a hybrid role. Ideally, you will work from a local Jacobs office on average 2 to 3 days per week. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.
* B.S. or M.S. degree in a related engineering discipline from an accredited university.
* Valid Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license with the ability to serve as Engineer of Record.
* A minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible experience in project management for transportation projects and consulting.
* Proven track record of successfully managing projects, identifying and securing new business opportunities through the bidding process, and demonstrating strong skills in proposal development, client relationship building, and strategic bid planning to win contracts.
* Strong understanding of project delivery tools and metrics, with a proven history of leading project delivery teams to successfully meet client expectations.
* Extensive experience in the design and management of roadway/highway facilities projects.
* Previous experience leading a design team in developing construction plans for roadway/highway facilities.
* Working knowledge of federal, state, and local design guidelines, including the FDOT Florida Design Manual (FDM) and Standard Plans.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
* Established relationships with clients and/or teaming partners in the West Central Florida area, including FDOT Districts One and/or Seven, and local municipalities.
* Experience in limited access, toll road, and interchange design.
* Proven experience in designing or managing design-build projects.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Self-motivated and team-oriented with strong data analysis and technical problem-solving abilities.
* Strong organizational skills and a strategic approach to project management.
