Role Summary The Senior Purchasing Manager, Construction is responsible for strategic sourcing activities and supplier management functions to support the continued growth and roll-out of Rivian facilities across North America and Europe. This role will support capital expenditure projects in the commercial space, workplace, and/or charging infrastructure deployment. Responsibilities Own the contractual process for design consultants, contractors, and material suppliers by negotiating Master Service Agreements, General Terms & Conditions, Work Orders and Service Orders in close partnership with Rivian Legal Develop sourcing strategies by analyzing spend, project build plans, supply base, and market conditions Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, and develop construction services strategies and roadmaps for Rivian Stakeholders Work closely alongside Stakeholders in Facilities to meet their budgets and technical / quality requirements Execute against set schedule milestones and track progress and performance, ensuring design consultants, contractors and material suppliers are successfully delivering on contract requirements Expand opportunities to generate value to the enterprise through value engineering efforts, consolidating spend, rationalizing suppliers, improving pay terms, and driving process efficiency Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risk on individual projects and strategically resolve project issues by coordinating solutions at the team level when possible Lead project RFPs and perform detailed analysis of bids based on cost and qualifications from supplier submissions Identify and implement continuous cost improvements through negotiations to achieve cost targets Establish strong supplier relationships and manage supplier performance through the creation of key performance metrics Deliver against project budgets in collaboration with Rivian Finance team to ensure contracts meet / exceed cost targets, contributing to organization’s savings goals Analyze current and historical spend data in construction services categories and find opportunities for cost reductions Promote cross-functional engagement to successfully collaborate and influence change management Assist in market research; Identify potential sources by various indicators based on project requirements as well as Rivian’s goals related to sustainability, equity, and diversity. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Construction Management, or Engineering 5+ years of purchasing, procurement, or strategic sourcing experience 5+ years experience in a construction related field Demonstrated experience sourcing design and construction services in both North America and European markets including negotiations with general contractors, subcontractors and architects Knowledgeable in the theory, principles, and best practices of real estate development, design and construction Working knowledge of the construction labor market and materials/commodities trends Ability to travel up to 10% of the time Good interpersonal and communications skills High level of integrity Analytical skills to effectively problem solve and ensure both internal and external requests are fulfilled Attention to detail with an ability to organize large amounts of information into digestible, verbal, and visual forms of communication to ensure that the sourcing criteria meets the Stakeholder’s requirements Ability to work independently, multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment Exhibit proficiency in industry standard sourcing and collaboration tools Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $98,500 - $133,800 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
