Sr. Quality Engineer
**POSITION SUMMARY** We have an exceptional opportunity for a Sr. Quality Engineer to join our team in the Plainville, CT facility. This individual would have responsibility for the internal and external quality of their assigned mini-factory(s). You will organize and execute on audit and compliance activities to ensure that our customer base receives the highest level of product quality. You would supervise a team of Quality Technicians to support our manufacturing floor. **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS** 1. Lead quality assurance initiatives, define QA strategies, and establish testing methodologies to ensure high-quality deliverables 2. Provide guidance and mentorship to Quality Engineers, fostering a culture of quality within the team 3. Generation and reporting of quality KPIs (both internal and external) 4. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, development, and operations, to align quality objectives and ensure a shared understanding of requirements 5. Planning and execution of internal process and product audits 6. Defining actions or countermeasures arising from such internal audits, and ensuring their timely implementation 7. Management and execution of external audits as needed 8. Participation in project teams as needed, specifically to represent quality management interests 9. Developing and maintaining quality plan for existing and new products, in collaboration with operations team and/or project teams 10. Participating in the creation of qualification test plans in preparation of product launches 11. Leading or participating in pilot runs, follow up of resulting action lists 12. Product releases / serial releases (including PAPP if requested by relevant customers) 13. Leading and coordinating efforts to address quality problems (e.g. customer call-backs, customer or supplier reclamations, significant production issues) 14. Planning and executing in-process quality control tests, align resulting actions with operations leadership, follow up actions 15. Validation and approval of supplier FAIs 16. Diagnosis of customer reclamations, definition of countermeasures, handling of relevant communication and reporting in the appropriate or required formats (e.g. 8D) 17. Approve and verify validation of production equipment, in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering team 18. Supervise Quality Technicians, manage associate hours, performance, and development 19. Assist Supply Chain in developing and executing processes to both effectively qualify new and exit risky suppliers 20. Assist in developing DFMEA and PFMEA for manufacturing processes and new products. 21. Provide Quality leadership to the manufacturing team to ensure customer and quality expectations are met + Lead material review board (MRB) reviews and other Daily Management (DM) activities. **QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB REQUIREMENTS** _Education and Experience Required_ 1. BS degree and 3-5 years of Quality Engineering (or closely related) experience required. Technical degree preferred. _Knowledge and Skills Required_ 1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 2. Structured and analytical problem-solving experience. 3. Strong time management and organizational skills. 4. Ability to prioritize tasks/requests and act with the appropriate level of urgency. 5. Attention to detail and strong follow-up skills. 6. Ability to work cross-functionally and maintain positive relationships with external and internal customers. 7. Ability to write and follow standard operating procedures and work instructions. 8. Ability to work across geographies and between companies. 9. General use of electrical and mechanical equipment such as Digital Multimeters, electronic/mechanical gages, and power suppliers. 10. Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of basic geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. _Preferred Qualifications_ 1. Experience with MS Office, Salesforce, and JD Edwards preferred. 2. General knowledge of ISO and APQP preferred. 3.
