Under the direction of the Director of Reporting and Analytics, and working collaboratively with Quality and Safety leadership, the Sr. Quality Improvement Analyst (QIA) supports data needs for Accreditation to the Joint Commission, Inpatient and Outpatient Quality Reporting Programs for CMS, the Leapfrog Group annual survey and Safety Grade, and a host of quality reporting needs to the State and the Massachusetts Hospital Association. In addition this role will also support the data needs for patient engagement, staff engagement, clinical quality, and patient safety initiatives. The Sr. QIA’s responsibilities will include the research, design, development, and maintenance of reporting dashboards, building data-driven presentations that translate complex data analysis into meaningful insights, and providing ad-hoc analytical support to the Quality & Safety department. 


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in healthcare informatics, healthcare management, public health, information systems, statistics, or a related discipline. Master’s degree preferred.

Strong data visualization dev skills (using Tableau, and/or other tools such as Looker, VBA, and/or R Shiny)

Understanding hospital quality measurement (HEDIS, NCQA)

Ability to Project Manage and facilitate projects using PM tools

Speed and accuracy manipulating data in Google Sheets or Excel

Experience with medical record abstraction, or EHR use (preferably EPIC)

Knowledge of statistics and statistical analyses highly desirable

Ability and willingness to learn and administer new technology

Precise attention to detail

Ability to collaborate across teams, and communicate with individuals at all levels

Well developed written and communication skills

Ability to prioritize and manage time and deadlines efficiently

Strong ability to function in a highly complex organization and matrixed role
