We offer a supportive work environment, competitive salary, stability, and opportunities for career advancement._** **Job Summary** The Senior R&D Product Chemist is responsible for analyzing, developing, and improving new and existing products, using both current and novel raw materials. This includes replicating competitor products as well as calculating cost structures and proposed pricing. The role involves overseeing the evaluation and testing of prototypes, and may also include supervising and mentoring junior R&D Product Development Chemists and Lab Technicians. **Key Responsibilities** + Demonstrates innovative thinking and creativity in product development. + Develops new and enhances existing products, including juice concentrates and flavors, according to customer or internal specifications with minimal supervision. + Evaluates the feasibility of projects, considering production capacity, technology, equipment, and other potential limitations. + Conducts cost analysis and determines appropriate pricing for all developed products. + Prepares and revises product specifications and compounding instructions. + Engages with customers' technical teams to ensure product development aligns with their needs and requirements. + Provides technical support to customers, including troubleshooting and on-site assistance for first-time productions. + Offers training and guidance to junior R&D Chemists and team members. + Establishes guidelines and procedures for sample requests and outgoing product samples. + Collaborates with the Q.C. and Production departments to ensure smooth transitions during first-time production. + Acts as the primary point of contact for sample inquiries in the absence of the R&D Product Development Manager. + Undertakes special projects and other duties as required. + Able to lift up to 25 lbs. **Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, or a related field. + At least 5 years of experience as a Chemist in R&D. + Strong analytical skills and experience in product research and development. + Proficient in laboratory techniques and testing. + Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills. + Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. + Supervisory or management experience is a plus. \#INDBH We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability status, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
