This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.
As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, technicians, and specialists, the Senior Range Compliance Engineer will manage compliance to Space Force Manual 91-710 for ground systems design and all operations on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. Operations at the launch complex consist of ordnance installations, hydrazine operations, launch vehicle cryogenic and pneumatic operations, payload integration, launch, landing, and refurbishment evolutions; as well as certain development testing occurring on the Eastern Range. This position will work closely with the ground systems responsible engineers to generate and maintain compliance documentation for 91-710 Volume 3, with Facilities for compliance to 91-710 Volume 5, and with launch vehicle and ground operators for procedure development and compliance with 91-710 Volume 6. The Senior Range Compliance engineer will work heavily with the Space Launch Delta 45 Safety Office to verify compliance with Space Force regulations and negotiate waivers when needed. In this position, the Senior Range Compliance Engineer will provide guidance and oversite for hazardous operations supporting the New Glenn Rocket program and serve as the compliance liaison to the US Space Force during Launch Complex 36 hazardous operations.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Interpret and provide guidance to ground systems engineers on compliance to SPFCMAN 91-710 Volume 3.
Update and maintain the ground systems Missile System Prelaunch Safety Package (MSPSP).
Interpret and provide guidance to facility engineers on compliance to SPFCMAN 91-710 Volume 5.
Update and maintain the launch site Facility Safety Data Packages (FSDPs).
Interpret and provide guidance to launch operations engineers on compliance to SPFCMAN 91-710 Volume 6.
Update and maintain the Ground Operations Plan (GOP) and all procedures conducted on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
Support the creation of Safety Assessment Reports (SARs) as needed for non-recurring testing planned to occur on Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and brief compliance to Space Launch Delta 45 Safety.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree.
8+ years of work experience with either managing hazardous operations, including team oversite and hazard mitigation, or systems safety experience.
Experience in tailoring of SPFCMAN 91-710 Volumes as related to operations and ground systems.
Experience in authoring safety waivers and compliance documentation related to operations and ground systems.
Proven experience in meeting regulatory compliance while performing hazardous operations.
Experience with developing and executing hazardous operations procedures.
Working knowledge of SPFCMAN 91-710 regulations.
The ability to work on own initiative and under pressure.
Able to work full-time schedule, overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Must be able to pass the security background check to work at federal reservations.
Able to work in a harsh climate environment.
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as the lead focal for regulatory compliance.
Experience with aerospace launch and landing operations.
Expert knowledge of USSF Manuals 91-710 and 91-201.
Expert knowledge of Life Safety Code (NFPA 101).
Experience coordinating with Space Launch Delta 45 Safety Office.
