Valero is looking for a Sr. Refinery Inspector that monitors the fitness-for-service, safety and reliability of plant fixed equipmentthrough thickness condition monitoring programs and visual inspections.Inspects fixed equipment and piping.Makes cost-effective recommendations for repairs, materials selection, andother remedial action in support of long-term reliability.Develops piping and fixed equipment inspection plans, in accordance with API510, API 570 and API 653, using rule-based and risk-based methodology.Selects cost-effective inspection techniques to provide reliable assessment of
refinery equipment remaining life.Interprets and evaluates inspection and NDE data.Evaluates corrosion monitoring data, predicts equipment life and adjustsinspection intervals as required.Maintains complete and accurate records during inspections so they can betransferred to the permanent files.Participates in the planning of and approves the execution of temporary repairs.Develops and maintains fixed equipment inspection procedures/practices.Reviews design/fabrication drawings and performs fabrication shop/fieldinspections to ensure conformance to specifications.Provides technical support to Operations, Maintenance and other refinerygroups.Monitors and directs the daily activities of outside inspection contractors duringturnarounds and special activities.Inspects and monitors all repair and construction work to ensure it is being doneper the plans and adheres to all specifications and applicable codes.Monitors and reports on the activities and quality of contractors in conjunctionwith their QA/QC representative.Participates in process and corrosion reviews, RBI and MOE revalidation andHAZOPs.Trains others in PCMS RBI process and API program usage.
