The Hussman Institute has an exciting opportunity for a full time Senior Research Associate 2 (second level research position, track one). The incumbent supports research activities under the direction of a principle investigator, program director or designee of the principle investigator or program director.

Contributes to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data and maintaining databases.
Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.
Participates in the publication of significant results.
Advances expertise through continued education, training, and research.
Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.
Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.
Stays abreast of developments in the field which may impact department functions.
Provides guidance, mentorship, and oversight to junior research staff and students.
Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Core Qualifications
Master’s Degree in relevant field required
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience
Department Specific Functions
This scholar will support research activities under the direction of a principal investigator, program director or designee of the principal investigator or program director. Candidate must be able to Able to convey information effectively, work independently, follow verbal and written instructions and with strong analytical skill.
Scholar will focus on genetic epidemiology and statistical analysis of population specific African Ancestry data
Provides leadership and collaborates with multiple stakeholders on planning program activities and policy analyses, writing for publication and provides policy analysis consultation to project staff and collaborators. Scholar will contribute to applied research activities and may play a lead role, including authorship of scientific monographs, and advance their expertise through education, training, and/or research experience.
Experience gained during education/training or in employment in a research position, specifically managing international initiatives and working with very high-level leaders/ professionals/scientists.
In collaboration with researchers, qualitative content analyses, coding transcripts, developing themes and codes, translating into reports.
