The Senior Research Associate 3, GAB conducts highly specialized and complex research in support of the division’s research goals and objectives and assumes responsibility for the successful operations of the laboratory. The incumbent also supervises the activities of all laboratory staff and users and serves as subject matter expert and mentor to less experienced staff.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                 

1. Contributes to basic and applied research activities by collecting and analyzing data.

2. Understands and interprets research protocols and procedures.

3. Maintains an overview of relevant research findings.

4. Ensures all research is undertaken according to good research practice.

5. Designs, evaluates, and implements methods and protocols for assigned research projects.

6. Recommends purchase of new equipment for research projects.

7. Writes scientific articles and manuscripts for publication and presentation.

8. Oversees and ensures the safe handling of radioactive and hazardous materials.

9. Prepares analytical reports relative to research data.

10. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

11. Ability to work fully remote.

12. Ability to travel for data collection and meetings with collaborators.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                    

Education:

Master’s Degree in relevant field

Experience:

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

• Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.

• Knowledge of the national landscape of organizations promoting community ownership models of housing, property, and real estate.

• Ability to work as part of a team of researchers.
