Sr. Sales Trainer

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Sales Trainer, Tax & Accounting to oversee all onboarding programs for our sales, client executive, and sales development teams. This role is central to the mission of upscaling our teams and enhancing our top of funnel motion.


This role will lead the implementation and ongoing management of our onboarding programs with a focus on helping new hires exceed their ramp quotas. This includes scheduling, facilitating and managing our onboarding motion across sales executives, client executives, and sales development representatives. The Senior Sales Trainer will also work with our technology and HR teams to ensure a smooth new hire experience.

There will be significant collaboration with other trainers to deliver and create trainings, but the candidate will also need core knowledge to run training or coaching sessions independently. Coordinate and organize the comprehensive calendar for the learning path for our 3 core training paths: Sales Development, Client Executives, and Sales Executives

Take ownership of the program and its subsequent developments

Build and maintain relationships with one or more stakeholder groups such as Audit CE's & Tax SE's

Understand the needs of stakeholders and proactively developing initiatives to meet these needs

Develop and manage the onboarding training calendar

Work to continuously improve the quota performance of new hires coming out of the program

Brainstorm and implement improvements based on metrics, feedback, business changes, and observed behaviors

Observe real-time rep conversations with customers to assess the effectiveness of training and coaching efforts

Provide intensive support for reps to ensure strong performance post-onboarding

Expertly design ad hoc trainings and initiatives as required

Continuously update and expand your expertise on industry trends, changes, product positioning, and sales methodologies from our Sales Enablement Partners

Develop a deep understanding of the pain points experienced by the roles you support and providing proactive solutions

Establish a feedback loop with the broader Business Integration and Transformation (BIT) team to inform future initiatives

Deliver top-tier coaching, guiding the full sales cycle to standard and to mastery

Diagnose process and practice gaps

Deliver engaging, dynamic, and memorable training sessions

Clearly articulate and simplify complex concepts, leaving attendees with clear and actionable guidance they can apply

Perform other duties as assigned, including piloting other initiatives in partnership with the BIT team

About You

Excellent group/team leadership skills

Excellent writing, presentation, and overall communication skills

Working knowledge of Thomson Reuters Tax & Accounting products is preferred

2+ years successful sales experience required

Demonstrated coaching/mentoring skills

Experience in training and development is preferred

Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and SFDC

Excellent organizational skills

Strong listening skills

Must be able to originate a creative and innovative approach to sales training needs.

High level of energy and confidence with ability to stimulate and motivate sales professionals. 

Demonstrated project management skills desired.

Detail oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently. 

Willing to travel up to 25% of the time as required to support our teams outside the US

BA or BS degree or equivalent work experience

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $72,100 - $133,900. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
