Sr. Service Lab Technician

Role Summary The Service Lab technician will be responsible for overdelivering on all Upfit and Logistic Operations. We work with Mobile Service Engineering to upfit vehicles to support Rivian Mobile Service. We also perform validations on prototype configurations for new designs before being implemented into Service. This role will require a skilled technician that is process driven and self-sufficient. This role will facilitate the receiving of parts, kitting, and installation of components onto a vehicle. We also work cross-functionally with engineering teams on special projects and product improvement. You will always maintain a high level of professionalism as we will regularly interact with cross functional teams. To be successful in this role you must collaborate with others and always maintain an extremely positive attitude, great work ethic and high quality standards. Responsibilities Support the day to day operations inclusive of but not limited to - vehicle upfit, process validations, time studies, parts logistics, and parts kitting. Improve efficiency in upfit procedures without compromising quality and safety of the process. Light vehicle repair and inspections. Validate service tooling prior to implementation to the field. Support campaigns and containment initiatives. Work with a collaborative attitude and team spirit in an ever-changing, dynamic environment. Support cost analyst impact on different serviceability methods and processes. Support cross functional teams and assist with pre-production vehicle builds. Provide ad hoc support to Service Tooling Engineering. Support and proactively collaborate with Service Engineering, Field Service, Mobile Service Engineering, Service Parts, and Service Training teams. Use 1st principals to collaborate, teach, and mentor other team members to constantly improve the Service organization. Qualifications Automotive Technology/Technician Degree or equivalent experience Experience with Management Systems and work order completion Experience with hand tools, power tools, automotive shop equipment Familiarity with inventory management software/systems and inventory processes 2+ years of EV experience Dealership experience is a plus Ability to drive non-commercial truck and trailer Must possess a valid driver’s license Experience working in start-up environments Strong written and communications skills Strong organization skills with attention to detail No drug or alcohol related driving incidents in the last 3 years No more than 1 serious moving violation in the last 3 years Physical exertion may be required to perform occupational tasks (sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, carrying, reaching, pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 lbs) Frequent use of hands for purposes of grasping and using tools correctly, entering data, writing communications, or calling customers or internal partners Must have a valid driver's license in the state of residence that you will be driving/operating a vehicle Will be subject to continuous Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) monitoring Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $33.29 - $38.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
