AIS Authorization team's mission is to enable protection of personal information and common resources through a policy driven access control solution. AIS AuthZ team is seeking talented engineers to work with internal and external partner engineering teams to develop state-of-the-art access control and permissions platform for customers. The ideal candidate has a demonstrable track record of technical leadership and success in delivering new features and products. A commitment to teamwork, hustle, and strong communication skills (to both business and technical partners) are absolute requirements. Creating reliable, scalable, and high performance products and platform capabilities requires exceptional technical expertise, a sound understanding of the fundamentals of Computer Science, and practical experience building large-scale distributed systems. This person has thrived and succeeded in delivering high quality technology products/services in a hyper-growth environment where priorities shift quickly.

Key job responsibilities
- Design and modify scalable software architecture of full stack systems.
- Design and develop LLM facing APIs to deliver natural language capabilities.
- Work independently to deliver and maintain features.
- Apply software engineering best practices to the development life cycle (incremental delivery, coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, operations...).
- Engage in continuous prioritization efforts to balance out fast paced business requirements with long term technical investments.

A day in the life
- Oversee and secure the technical strategy, design agility and quality of the AuthZ space.
- Lead solution definition and discussions with Alexa domain and LLM services teams
- Supporting teammates through collaboration and mentoring.
- Shipping and reviewing code
- Driving improvements on team-level code quality, process efficiency and knowledge sharing.
- Troubleshooting a wide variety of cross-domain issues.
- Focusing on Operational Excellence (development processes, monitoring, code deployment, automated testing, dashboarding...).
- Work with partner teams to enable key capabilities on AuthZ platform and integration with domain services.
