Job DescriptionAre you a software development engineer in test (SDET) driven to make software perfect? Does maximizing test coverage on code whose failure could cost lives … excite you? At Skyworks' Timing Division, we solve hard problems in the ultra-precision timing space, targeting such applications as 5G, HPC, and datacenters. This is a new role for an engineer to lead the QA function of a dynamic software product that is mission-critical for our customers. The successful applicant would receive broad autonomy to implement QA in whichever way is effective, and will be expected to deliver results. Coming up to speed on our rapidly iterating codebase will be demanding, and we'll provide support and mentoring to help you figure it out, including code reviews with constructive feedback.
Responsibilities Create and execute test plans for each release Perform requirement analysis Write and maintain automated and manual test cases Collaborate with automated test engineering to integrate test cases into our regression testing system Create detailed bug tickets based on observed failures Maintain an adversarial yet cordial relationship with software developers Qualifications CS/ECE/EE or similar degree plus industry experience: MS + 3 years or BS + 5 years C/C++ programming skills sufficient to enable you to perform white box testing where necessary Solid understanding of networking at all layers of the stack The phrase "Precision timing aspirant" near the top of your résumé to show you read this Ability to perform in both self-directed and collaborative settings Excellent attention to detail and a desire to get your solution right

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $89,100 - $172,100 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
