IN THIS ROLE, YOU'LL: - Architect and develop highly scalable, distributed backend systems supporting Apple Wallet’s digital access and car key solutions. - Build secure, performant APIs integrating seamlessly with third-party access control systems. - Collaborate closely with hardware, security, product, and UI teams to deliver flawless user experiences. - Mentor and support engineers, encouraging a culture of technical perfection and innovation. **Minimum Qualifications** + We are looking for 7+ years of backend software engineering experience with languages like Java + Experience building scalable, distributed systems and APIs + Expertise in concurrency, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka) + Experience with Relational and NoSQL Databases + Experience authoring and supporting web services + BS degree in computer science or equivalent field **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + MS degree plus 4-5 years of software development experience or equivalent experience + Experience/understanding of security and cryptography **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
