About the Role

As a Sr. Software Engineer (Hybrid - Engineering & NLP), you will be at the forefront of leveraging machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) to enhance and build intelligent products that elevate customer experiences. You will serve as a technical lead and play a key role in both the development of scalable backend solutions and the integration of ML models, particularly in NLP. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, startup-like environment with a high degree of autonomy and ownership.

You will work closely with product managers, data scientists, and engineering teams to architect and deploy data-driven solutions, as well as contribute to the continuous improvement of our systems by focusing on quality, scalability, and security. Your work will have a direct impact on millions of users, contributing to the evolution of smart applications in a high-growth product environment.

About You

Basic Qualifications:

8+ years of experience in backend development, delivering scalable web applications or SaaS solutions using Python or Java.

4+ years of experience delivering applied machine learning products, with a focus on taking a product from design through to production.

4+ years of experience developing ML-driven features using Python (including NumPy, SciPy, Pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of design patterns, class modeling, and UML technology.

Experience in designing and implementing ETL pipelines.

Experience in building large-scale enterprise business applications, preferably in HCM/ERP domains.

Other Qualifications:

Experience with RESTful web services and building ML applications using web frameworks, such as FastAPI and Flask.

Experience in analyzing and selecting the best ML algorithms for given problems, with a focus on NLP tasks.

Comfortable with cloud computing platforms (e.g. AWS, GCP) and containerization technologies( e.g. Docker, Kubernates, etc. )

Strong working knowledge of software design and analysis for performance and scalability.

Experience in designing experiments, A/B testing, and statistical data analysis.

Experience with MySQL, NoSQL databases, and writing complex queries.

A mindset of continuous improvement, with a passion for quality, scale, and security in software development.


Workday Pay Transparency Statement

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below.  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Recruiters can share more detail during the hiring process. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. Primary Location Base Pay Range: $148,000 USD - $222,000 USD


 

Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $140,600 USD - $248,400 USD
