Visit our HMH Engineering Blog - here What you’ll be doing: • Write Back-End highly maintainable code at scale for the content and metadata platform used by our HMH content creators. • Write Deployment Scripts (infrastructure as code). • In addition to development, you will also be responsible for Administering the MarkLogic Cluster Environment, including Monitoring and tuning of the MarkLogic environment to achieve optimal performance What you’ll bring: • 8+ years of experience and a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field is preferred • Strong knowledge of XQuery, FLWOR queries, JavaScript, MarkLogic, XML Data, triple-stores, XML Processing, XSLT. • Significant experience implementing the MarkLogic java-client-api within an enterprise application. • Strong knowledge in MarkLogic content ingestion & transformation techniques • Strong knowledge in MarkLogic search APIs and features • Experience with XML schema/content modeling in MarkLogic • Deep knowledge of MarkLogic performance/scaling concepts and tuning best practices • Knowledge of Cluster administration and management as well as architecting, designing and implementing software solutions • Knowledge on deploying, managing and developing with MarkLogic clusters: Replication and Fail-over • Significant experience in the development of service-oriented architecture applications. • Strong analytical and design skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into efficient and effective technical designs. • Ability to test, analyze data and improve constantly • Cloud familiarity (preference for AWS) • Code reviews and version control (preference for Git) • Experience writing and implementing unit tests Nice to have: • Know multiple programming languages (Java, SpringFramework) Physical Requirements: • Might be in a stationary position for a considerable time (sitting and/or standing) • The person in this position needs to move about inside office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer • Must be able to collaborate with colleagues via face to face, conference calls, and online meetings HMH Technology Private Limited is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, colour, religion or belief, sex, age, national origin, citizenship status, marital status, military/veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental disability or any other characteristic protected by applicable laws.
