Workday is seeking a highly skilled and driven Financials Solution Consultant to join our dynamic State & Local Government team. In this pivotal role, you'll act as the strategic link between our innovative financial solutions and our valued prospective clients. Your expertise will be showcased through delivering captivating demonstrations, meticulously tailored to address the unique and complex challenges within the public sector. You'll conduct insightful discovery sessions, gaining a deep understanding of client needs and translating them into impactful solutions. As a trusted advisor, you'll provide in-depth financial expertise, expertly responding to RFPs/RFIs and guiding clients through the decision-making process. Collaboration is paramount, and you'll thrive in a team-oriented environment, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless client experiences and staying at the forefront of our evolving product releases. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence sales strategy and contribute significantly to our continued growth and success within the critical State & Local Government market, shaping the future of public sector financial management.
Responsibilities include:
The delivery of relevant technical product presentations, demonstrations, workshops, and seminars. Creates detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutionsTo assist in the closure of sales opportunities by demonstrating a complete understanding of and resolving questions regarding our solution, services, and training.To contribute to the qualification of prospects, proposed demonstration criteria, proof of concept system builds and sales cycle closure plans. Supporting all sales, marketing, technical and channel objectives. To assist sales in the response to RFI/RFPs Participate in discovery sessions alongside sales to ask qualifying questions and understand pain points, current business processes, and ideal future stateUses in-depth ERP-product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrationsAbility to travel 50% of the timeAbout You
Basic Qualifications:
5-7+ years of Financials domain expertise and preferably experience in cross Financials functions such as General Accounting, AP / AR, Grants Management, Financial Reporting, Project Management and Asset Management or Procurement required
3+ years ERP experience ideally from a presales, implementation, or consulting
Familiarity with the Workday Platform
Other requirements:
Ability to adequately prioritize multiple projects and needs of the business while collaborating with other departments to drive sales strategy, enablement, and growth.
Demonstrated ability to build strong customer relationships and drive revenue through value-based selling methodologies.
Ability to effectively communicate and influence C-level executives, with a particular focus on CFO personas.
Comprehensive knowledge of product features, benefits, and applications, coupled with strong presales and product demonstration skills, especially within cloud-based solution environments.
Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence including specific industry use cases and Generative AI trends.
Travel up to 50% of the time
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, AND/OR equivalent work experience

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
