Job Description:

L3Harris is actively seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer (SE) to support requirements, design, development, test, and integration of complex, specialized hardware/software systems installed on ground and airborne platforms.

Essential Functions:

Assist in the Design and development of physical architectures incorporating CNS/ATM equipment into airborne systems for military and commercial customers. Translate the customer requirements into unique verifiable system level requirements.Define requirement traceability methods.Assist in leading the systems engineering trade study processes.Review trade studies for accuracy and completeness.Write subsystem specifications based on system level requirements.Review alternative solutions and help establish the system design.Review and evaluate technical data package (electrical wiring diagrams, mechanical integration drawings, analysis reports, etc.) to ensure design details trace to system requirements.Write effective verification test procedures ensuring system performance and capabilities meet system requirements.Prepare effective presentations to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical professionals.Use of standard Microsoft Office suite of applicationsOperate within a Product Lifecycle Manager (PLM); TeamCenter preferredConducting first article verification testingExcellent written, oral, and presentation communication skillsWorking with subcontractors and US Government customers.Working successfully both independently and in a team environment with the ability to lead teams through a system development and integration cycle.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree with six (6) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience.Graduate Degree with four (4) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience.In Lieu of a degree, a minimum of ten (10) years of Avionics Systems Engineering experience Must be a US Citizen.

Preferred Additional Skills:

TeamCenter experience.Active Secret, or higher, DoD Clearance.Bachelors' degree, or higher, in an engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, Software, Physics, Etc.).
