Job Description

Advance Auto Parts, Inc., a leading automotive aftermarket parts provider in North America, serves both the professional installer and do-it-yourself customers. Advance operates approximately 5,100 stores and serves approximately 1,300 independently owned CARQUEST branded stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands and Canada.

Advance Auto Parts is currently looking for a Sr. Software Developer to join their International Supply Chain Systems Development Team. The Supply Chain Development Team is responsible for the analysis, development, testing, and supporting supply chain applications. Our supply chain operates at significant scale supporting over 6,000 inventory locations across North America and a rapidly growing eCommerce direct-to-customer delivery model.  Transformation is the focus as we are consolidating systems and embracing software-as-a-service (SaaS).

This is a hybrid position requiring team members to report into our Raleigh, NC HQ. This is NOT a remote position.

As a Sr. Software Developer, you will: 

Independently assist in research and fact finding to develop or modify information systemsWrite detailed and maintainable program specifications for large programs, objects or systems to be used by othersWrite new highly complex programs, objects or systems from detailed specificationsFacilitate technical and user walkthroughs of information systemsProvide time estimates for projects to be performed by self or othersParticipate in on-call support rotation for moderate to critical system issuesLead medium or large projects including cross-functional interactionInterface frequently with business partners concerning their needsMaintain a thorough knowledge of Advance Auto Parts technologiesParticipate in all SDLC rolesWork closely with Advance Auto Parts Architects to solution new systems and interfacesUtilize and enhance established design patterns in system design and developmentLead code / design reviews for appropriate level of complexity with junior developersCreate and maintain technical documentation

Required Technical and Professional Experience:

High Proficiency in SQL (PL/SQL or Microsoft SQL) programmingMinimum of 3-5 years experience in application development or support of a Warehouse Management System (HighJump (Koerber) Software, RedPrairie, Manhattan Associates, SAP-WM, etc.) is highly preferred

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience:

Experience with HighJump’s (Koerber’s) WebWise Page Editor and Advantage Architect toolsetExperience with designing and developing REST\\RESTful APIsBartender LabelingSSRS ReportingVoice (Vocolletx, TopVox, Voxware)Understanding of Supply Chain and Warehousing concepts

Required Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
