Role Summary The Senior Staff Product Manager for Data, Simulation, and Eval is responsible for ensuring that we are building the best tooling for Rivian as we move towards L3 and L4. This person owns product management and definition for Data, Simulation and Evaluation. This is a senior role that requires deep expertise in building the tooling that keeps Rivian owners happy and safe while under autonomy. Responsibilities Single product contact for Autonomy sim/eval/data workflows Align product requirements with needs of internal customers on engineering teams (systems, motion planning, controls) Maximize utilization of simulation by ensuring that workflows are streamlined and aligned with engineering team needs As Rivian gets more sophisticated, build long term roadmap for evaluating longer scenarios and ODD expansion including simulation, visualization, and data vis/dashboards Set eval criteria for safety for new customer features Kaizen mentality for continuous iterative improvement Enough love of process to find short term solutions to pain points (rather than building software, can we throw scripts and layouts into gitlab or confluence instead) This role maximizes the value of our in house toolchain and ensures we can move quickly on ambitious targets by allowing us to validate safety in a systematic and effective way. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience 10+ years of experience in Product Management on deep tech products Hands on experience with ML based products including evaluation with metrics driven analysis Experience with developing and shipping Autonomous Vehicle products using open and closed loop simulation, with a point of view of how to optimize for the volume and nature of data being used, the problems being solved, and optimizing cost Ability to go deep on developer workflows to build pragmatic processes and toolchains that map to real use cases. Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $213,000.00 - $266,300.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
