This role involves understanding the challenges of existing operational gaps and developing software solutions to standardize production operations across the existing and future systems. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, instrumenting applications and infrastructure to collect meaningful metrics, logs, and traces; building the continuous measures; automation standardization for improved reliability of the systems and infra, and tools to simplify operations. The Infra Org is charted to simplify the operations and improve the reliability for Linkedin. This team is responsible for Linkedin’s site health and critical platforms like K8s, Kafka, Grid, Data pipelines, MLOps that support our site. This role will be based in Bangalore, India. The work location of this role is hybrid, meaning it will be performed both from home and from a LinkedIn office on select days, as determined by the business needs of the team. Key Responsibilities: - Act as a reliability expert to identify problems and opportunities, leading teams to architect, design, and implement platforms that reduce operational toil for LinkedIn Infrastructure. - Design products, services, tools, and code that can be reused by others, while carefully considering the operational impact of all decisions. - Define, enforce, and continuously elevate the standards for reliability at LinkedIn by incorporating industry best practices. - Collaborate closely with the open-source community to contribute and bring back the best solutions. - Partner with customers and leaders to create roadmaps, drive alignment, and deliver products while fostering a culture of innovation. - Provide architectural guidance and mentorship to elevate the engineering team's capabilities. Basic Qualifications: - BA/BS Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - 10+ years of experience in software design and development with a focus on infrastructure reliability and scalability. - 10+ years of experience programming in object-oriented languages such as Java, C++, Python, Go, C and/or other Functional languages. - Experience with modern observability tools and monitoring platforms (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, Datadog, Splunk). - Deep understanding of distributed systems, networking, and microservices architecture. - Experience with driving large-scale reliability initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams. - 5+ years of experience in an architect or technical leadership position. - Experience with AI/LLMs, particularly in applying reliability improvements to platforms. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker). - Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible. - Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation. - Maintainer or contributor of open source projects.
