Job Description
Coordinate team activities to deliver on estimating, product development, assembly line support, improvements, and corrective actions. Provide necessary resources and support to operations teams for real-time problem resolution on the production floor. Ensure the availability of resources to meet workload and delivery on quality, schedule, and cost. Coach team members to achieve operational plans and targets, and support training needs to develop an innovative cross-functional team.
ResponsibilitiesCoordinate team activities for estimating, product development, assembly line support, improvements, and corrective actions.Provide real-time problem resolution support on the production floor.Ensure availability of resources to meet projected workload and delivery on quality, schedule, and cost.Coach team members on performance goals to achieve operational plans and targets.Support identification and execution of team training needs.Control, monitor, and integrate all aspects of the manufacturing execution system.Lead group members in team meetings and apply 'Design for Manufacturing' concepts.Guide the team using a Continuous Improvement mindset to develop safe manufacturing processes.Focus on efficiency in procedures and create cost reduction initiatives.Provide technical leadership and assist in the training and development of less experienced team members.Manage communication with cross-functional teams including requirements definition, escalation, status reporting, personnel, resource, financial, and schedule management.Identify advanced manufacturing improvement opportunities and support new tooling, test equipment, and automation.Critically review internal processes to improve efficiency and utilization of the team.Essential Skills3+ years leading a team of engineers on assembly/testing.5+ years of expertise in optics.Broad knowledge of mechanics, electrical, and optics.Understanding of operations optimization principles related to workflow, process analysis, and resource planning.Additional Skills & QualificationsEngineering, Manufacturing engineering, optics, Engineering management.Experience as an Engineering Lead.Work Environment
Primarily onsite with flexible options. Working hours are from 7:30am to 4pm, with a factory schedule of 4-9's starting at 6am. Split time between the production floor and desk. Manage a team of 14 engineers and collaborate with 7 engineering managers while reporting to the director of engineering.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $117000.00/yr.
