Role Summary You will work alongside cross-functional teams to drive Rivian VW Technology Group quality requirements and manage our contract manufacturers quality performance ensuring seamless scaling of production. Your contributions will directly impact the performance and quality of Rivian VW Technology group’s cutting-edge electronic modules, ensuring successful launches from Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) to high-volume manufacturing at our contract manufacturing partner locations. Responsibilities · Contribute to the creation and implementation of best practice quality vision, strategy, and procedures to aid and improve operational performance at Contract Manufacturers / ECU Suppliers. · Manage and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support the project timing and quality performance. · Drive the completion of PPAP and APQP requirements throught out the different phases of development towards SOP. · Perform and sustain VDA audits to suppliers during sourcing and through program life cycle. · Proactively Identify high risk areas in production and engineering design cycle. · Identify, root cause, and track issues, working closely with Contract Manufacturers and internal stake holders to implement necessary improvements during production and vehicle launch. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of knowledge, skill and/or ability. Experience · BS+ Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Equivalent · 5+ years of experience working in a product development or volume manufacturing environment. · Wide breadth of electromechanical system knowledge. · Ability to dive deep into electrical, software, and mechanical issues. · Technical expertise in automotive low voltage electronic and associated components - IPC-610 certification a plus · Strong knowledge of Design Failure Mode Analysis (DFMEA), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) · Metrology, Inspection Methods, and Equipment · Understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes · Experience in high-rate production environments, especially working with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) on PCBA production. · Deep understanding of the automotive PPAP process and its application in production.
