Sr. Supplier Quality Manager, Supplier Quality Management
Description Supply Quality Manager strives to be the leader in supplier process and quality management and ability to scale to support Amazon device & services’ engagement from CM (contract manufacturing to ODM (original design manufacturer). Key responsibilities include developing approved suppliers for mass production of high quality parts; managing suppliers to continuously produce high quality parts consistently, with improvement in yields quarter to quarter. Qualify and bring-up of new suppliers to support increased capacity and/or new programs (addressing all aspects of supplier process readiness). Key job responsibilities To be the leader in supplier process and quality management. • Lead the development of new suppliers or existing suppliers of new EE/EM components to support increased capacity and/or new programs. Establish process or mechanism in driving supplier improvements. • Set up quality goals and monitor failure rate in suppliers, drive supplier to produce high quality parts consistently, with improvement in yield quarter to quarter. • Anticipates potential problems, identifies the root cause, and resolves performance issue and problem with cross function team in NPI and MP period that affect the reliability, manufacture, or availability of components. • Work with design engineering team in project development phase and make sure material issues are monitored and timely closed. • Develop process to early identify potential problems and improvements with design of new products, specifications, components, materials and application. • Drive both suppliers in area of failure analysis capability, including engineering resource and equipment readiness. • Work with commodity management team to identify quality and process improvement opportunities and drive for cost saving. • Co-work with engineering, GSM, GCM, Ops team for qualification of second or multiple sources. Review and approve request of engineering or production changes. Basic Qualifications - Bachelor Degree in Engineering or similar discipline. - Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin. - 10+ years’ experience in motor or mechanical part design engineering or manufacturing operation. This candidate is experienced at reading and interpreting engineering documents. - Electrical & Electronic product technology knowledge; Solid knowledge about electrical system design, test set up. - Experienced with relevant commodity manufacturing on Quality and Process improvement projects, such as semiconductor, connector, packaging. - Experienced in statistical tool using Minitab for cause analysis and Statistical decision making. Have knowledge and experience of process improvement - Solid understanding on quality tools such as Relationship, System, PDPC (Process Decision Program Chart), Matrix, Root Cause Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, , Gauge Reliability and Repeatability, FAI (First Article Inspection), Cpk (statistical process capability), etc. Preferred Qualifications - Experienced in EE or electro-mechanical part design, development or qualification - Experience working in semiconductor industry or knowledge of semiconductor backend process would be an advantage. - GB/BB and CQE/CQM, auditor qualification are preferred - DFM, DOE, Analysis of Variance, Hypothesis Testing, Value Stream Mapping will be plus. - Experienced in device assembly (FATP experience). - Willing to travel frequently (40+%) Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
