Position Summary

The role of the Sr. Support Engineer, Oracle Technology is to provide exceptional remote-based support for mission-critical Oracle EBS technology products such as Sysadmin, iAS, Weblogic, Forms, Database, as well as related technologies and configurations, like DB in RAC, EBS SSO and EBS DMZ setup, among others as part of our global customer support team.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Solve complex customer issues using methodical troubleshooting based on expert knowledge of Oracle EBS and Database products.Work closely with customers on a daily basis to understand their needs, support business change and deliver a consistently high-quality customer experience.Provide remote-based support of Oracle EBS and Database technology productsSupport client customizations, advising on upgrades and implementations.Solve complex issues around EBS and Database products, including tuning issues, security, and the network transport layer.Have expert level knowledge of the UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.Assume ownership of Rimini Street's unique security product for EBS and Database.Be a pro-active contributor to a support organization which is running 24x7x365, this will require the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays and monitoring email regularly outside standard business hoursProvide hands-on assistance using proprietary tools in a test environment or via remote client connectivityCollaborate with team members in a virtual team environment to extend field experience to different client situationsContribute to the development and management of knowledge-sharing methodologies, diagnostic tools, and creative processes, to improve the client experience

Minimal Qualifications

Education

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience

Experience

10+ years relevant Oracle EBS and Database development, integration, admin and tuning experience, with the majority focus on Sysadmin, iAS, Weblogic, Forms, Database, as well as related technologies and configurations, like DB in RAC, EBS SSO and EBS DMZ setup.Expertise in all major versions of the Oracle technology stack including Sysadmin, iAS, Weblogic, Forms, Database, as well as related technologies and configurations, like DB in RAC, EBS SSO and EBS DMZ setup.Hands-on operational expertise as an Oracle EBS and Database administrator and emphases on high availability, tuning, lifecycle management, backup/recovery, Upgrade, Migration, and general best practice.Deep troubleshooting skills in Oracle EBS and Database.Demonstrable history solving complex problems across multiple modules.

Skills

Must have deep knowledge of Oracle EBS and Database producs, including architectures, standards, protocols, and integration patterns.Must have deep performance tuning skills with practical exposure to Oracle EBS and Database performance tuning tools and techniques.Must have practical exposure to OS utilities like vmstat, top, iotop, sar, netstat, strace, iostat, tcpdump, wireshark.JDeveloper skills are an advantageExcellent English skills are a must.Superb trouble-shooting skills and tenacity in problem solving Oracle EBS and Database performance issues.Passionate focus on customer support and the ability to build long term, successful working relationships with clientsExcellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills – verbal & writtenAttention to detail and the ability to learn quicklyExtreme focus on client satisfactionAbility to work calmly and professionally in high pressure situationsThe ability to work remotely from a home based office in a virtual environment

Desired Qualifications

Expertise with other systems, like Hyperion, Agile PLM and/or JDE would be a significant advantage.Knowledge of OBIEE would be an advantage.Knowledge of other DB products, like Oracle GoldenGate would be an advantage.Experience with administration, installation and/or debug of other Oracle technology components would be an advantage such as Database, Enterprise Manager, etc.Experience of cloud-based deployments of Oracle EBS and Database and integration technologies would be useful.A consulting background, while not mandatory, would be useful.Experience with localizations and global implementations would be an advantage.Fluency in an additional language (preferably Spanish), while not mandatory, would be useful.
