Sr. Systems Administrator - Central

The Sr. Systems Administrator oversees system installations, monitors and maintains the IT servers, and evaluates new server hardware and software. Additionally, this employee manages a team that performs system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and issue escalation to maintain system performance and meet user demand.

Department Specific Functions

1. Experience scripting in PowerShell, Bash, Python (required)

2. Experience configuring and troubling shooting, of Windows Server, minimum 5-10 years, (required)

3. Experience configuring, troubling shooting and patching Linux operating systems, minimum 5-10 years. (required)

4. Experience working with VMware, including vCenter, VMware update manager, upgrading, and troubleshooting (required)

5. Experience with Nutanix hardware and software applications, Prism and Acropolis (preferred)

6. Experience working with Microsoft Azure (required)

7. Strong understanding of networking concepts and ability to troubleshoot and identify issues (required)

8. Creates and implements automation processes, either through coding or 3rd party applications.

9. Works independently, either on tickets, on assigned or project work.

10. Can independently review, evaluate, learn, and implement systems.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS                    

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field.

Experience:

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.

Knowledge, Skills and Attitudes:

• Skill in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data.

• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.

• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
