Here’s what you’ll do:  

The Sr. Systems Specialist  is the highest level of classification within the Carl Zeiss Field career structure. The candidate is expected to contribute his/her innovative knowledge for bringing solutions to complicated technical problems. Sr. Systems Specialist is accountable for investigating and researching current and evolving technologies to deliver exceptional and highly improved technical services to our customers both internal and external. Sr. Systems Specialist will have the ability to interact and communicate with customers effectively to serve them according to their needs.

This position will require the candidate to maintain previous level functions and duties. The Sr. Systems Specialist will play a central role in mentoring junior level technicians in all areas of service associated duties and responsibilities.

Maintain all Level V duties and responsibilities.Resolve the most challenging technical services and or difficult customer situations.Interact with other internal Zeiss Departments (Engineering/Customer Care/Sales/Production and or other personnel required to expedite repairs).Ability to understand Laser Map corrective services and perform such services only in the event this training is determined necessary for the location.Support of other less common accessories/services (i.e. RT-PM adjustment/VI-Scan/SP25).Ability to instruct customer and/or service technician training courses (formal and/or field).Initiates customer courtesy calls to follow up on recently performed service.Provides professional support to other Zeiss service colleagues in need of technical assistance.Other duties as required.

Do you qualify?  

Bachelor of Science in Electronics, Industrial Mechanics or training and experience from Military Technical School or similar experience is preferred.Previous experience installing, troubleshooting industrial electronics, machines or computer systems preferred.Microsoft operating system usage knowledge is required.Must have strong mentorship quality.Excellent communication and customer service aptitude is required.Have consistently and efficiently performed as a System Specialist for a minimum of 36 months (maintain all functions and responsibilities of previous levels).80-100% travel required (100% travel = Monday through Friday)Capable of unassisted physical lifting of one article weighing up to 75 poundsOccasional International travel is requiredAbility to work in a high production shop floor environment
