The Opportunity As part of our growth, we are seeking a talented Sr Sales Tax Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team. As a Sales Tax Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with United States, Canadian and Australian sales tax regulations and optimizing tax processes. You will be responsible for managing sales tax filings, reconciliations, and audits, while also providing expertise and support to internal teams regarding sales tax matters. The ideal candidate is detail- oriented, analytical, and possesses strong communication skills. What You'll Do Prepare and file accurate and timely sales tax returns for multiple jurisdictions Reconcile sales tax payable accounts and ensure proper recording of transactions Review sales transactions and identify taxability issues, exemptions, and credits. Monitor changes in sales tax laws and regulations and assess their impact on the company. Assist in sales tax audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address sales tax-related issues and provide guidance on tax implications of business Participate in process improvements initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in sales tax compliance. Maintain sales tax records and documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures. What You'll Bring Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related 5+ years of experience in sales tax compliance, preferably in a corporate environment or public accounting firm. Strong understanding of sales tax laws and regulations, including multi-state taxation. Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis and reconciliation. Excellent attention to detail and organizational Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast- paced environment. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications: CPA or other relevant professional certification. Experience with sales tax automation software (e.g., Avalara, Vertex). Knowledge of ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite.
