Job DescriptionVisa’s Global Tax department comprises a diverse group of over 60 professionals located throughout Visa’s global offices spanning: Foster City, California, London, Miami, Dubai, Singapore, Toronto, and Mumbai. The Global Tax department manages both direct and indirect tax strategy, tax planning and structuring, transfer pricing, controversy, tax policy, and compliance as a US multinational organization.
The Senior Manager is a leadership role within the Visa global tax function and will partner closely with the global tax team and other leaders at Visa.
Essential Functions:
Prepare and review state and local income/franchise tax returns.Coordinate the preparation and review of state apportionment factors and common state adjustments for multiple states and entities.Manage the preparation, review, and payment process for state and local estimated tax payments and extensions.Assist with quarterly federal and state income tax forecasts and cash flow analyses.Coordinate with outside service providers on preparation of property tax and indirect tax returns, including Washington B&O, Ohio CAT, and SF Business Tax.Ownership of fixed asset data management for all tax reports including federal and state income tax and property taxes.Perform state and local tax research and draft memos supporting conclusions.Monitor changes in state tax legislation and advise on the impact to Visa.Review and respond to notices from tax authorities and maintain the notices log.Assist Federal team with preparation of federal return, estimates and forecasts.Assist Controversy team with audit inquiries and data requests.Assist Provision team by providing supporting data for quarterly and annual tax provisions.Identify and drive process improvement initiatives that impact the compliance function.Supervise members of the tax team on various projects and mentor them in their career development.Assist with special projects as needed.QualificationsBasic Qualifications
•8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

•9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
•Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
•Master’s degree in Taxation or CPA is preferred.
•Proficiency in OneSource Income Tax software. OneSource State Apportionment, Oracle, Alteryx, Power Query, and Power BI experience strongly preferred.
•Prior experience calculating state apportionment factors for a large multinational corporation, and detailed knowledge of the apportionment rules for service revenues.
•Excellent communication skills to articulate complex tax issues effectively.
•Strong leadership skills and experience in managing a team.
•Detail-oriented with strong tax research skills using Bloomberg Tax and/or RIA Checkpoint.
•Self-motivated, able to work independently, and take ownership of assigned areas while demonstrating strong team skills.
•Capable of managing multiple deadlines, identifying automation opportunities, and providing technology solutions.
•Proven record of building and maintaining strong relationships with business partners.
This is a hybrid position based in Foster City, CA. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 142,200.00 to 206,350.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
