Sr. Technical Program Manager (2025-014) Astronics Subsidiary Astronics AES Location Kirkland, WA Description **Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES)** is seeking a **Sr. Technical Program Manager** to bring their expertise to our team of diverse, professional problem solvers in our **Advanced Power Control (APC) Group** in **Kirkland, WA.** This is an **on-site position** that offers flexibility to **work from home part-time** dependent on project needs. If you're passionate about making an impact and driving innovation with a forward-thinking company that stays at the forefront of the latest technologies in the aircraft industry—and has been **recognized as one of Washington's Best Places to Work for 16 consecutive years** —please read on! **Job Summary** The primary business objective for the Technical Program Manager is to establish AES as a globally recognized leader in aircraft electrical power systems for small to mid-sized business jets, UAVs, and rotorcraft. **Key Performance Objectives** **Customer Management** + Effectively communicate across all levels of the customer organization, including senior executives. + Seek customer feedback and provide prompt problem resolution. + Manage customer expectations and communications to mitigate risks to the company. + Cultivate and maintain business relationships to secure follow-on business. **Contract Management** + Thoroughly understand contractual obligations and communicate contract requirements to relevant internal and external organizations. **New Product Introduction** + Lead or assist in the transition of new products from development to production. + Determine initial manufacturing build requirements, develop build plans, and coordinate with Operations to support these plans. + Identify and develop subcontract suppliers, including overseeing any necessary validation activities. + Ensure availability of documentation and test equipment to support production. **Product Changes** + Manage all change and improvement activities for assigned, moderately complex, and medium-volume products. + Develop and communicate plans as required and allocate resources. + Oversee the development of analysis and test data to support customer approvals of changes. + Participate in Change Control Board meetings. + Monitor and address component obsolescence for assigned products. **Product Cost** + Coordinate and drive process and design improvements to reduce product costs. + Lead cross-functional teams to address product cost improvement initiatives and report progress to management. **Yield Management** + Ensure Yield targets are met by monitoring data and proactively addressing issues in Operations or with suppliers. + Manage activities and cross-functional teams tasked with improving Yield. + Communicate performance and actions taken to meet Yield targets during Product Program Reviews and as needed. **Failure Investigations** + Lead or support failure investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions. + Evaluate field return data to identify failure trends and take appropriate measures. + Lead Failure Review Boards for assigned products as necessary. **Management/Communication** + Manage all activities associated with assigned products to ensure prioritization, responsibility, and closure. + Maintain tools to effectively manage and communicate activities. + Compose monthly program review materials to summarize and communicate activity and performance of assigned products. **Technical Knowledge** + Develop and maintain a strong technical understanding of assigned products. + Mentor or teach others about the performance and design of assigned products. **Minimum Qualifications** **Education/Experience** + Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; MBA preferred. + Six or more years of experience in program management, operations, engineering, procurement, or other related functions. + At least four years of multi-discipline team leadership experience preferred. + Required experience with Aerospace engineering development projects. **EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS** + As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). **Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.** + An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing pre-employment background check and **drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis** . **Salary is $122,103 - $183,004 per year.** Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered. **Astronics AES offers a competitive benefits package including:** **Stay Healthy** – Health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, FSA, HSA, as well as voluntary life/AD&D, voluntary critical illness, accident prevention and hospital indemnity **Save for the Future** – 401K & Employee Stock Purchase Plan **Find Balance** – Employee Assistance Program, Work/life Balance Culture. **Time for You** – Generous Paid Time Off and Paid Holidays Position Requirements As above.
