We are seeking a Senior UNIX Engineer for an urgent placement in Austin, TX. This begins as a 6 month role with good probability of extension.
Required Skills:
* Oracle Solaris 10 and Red Hat Linux operating systems, system utilities, UNIX scripting, virtualization methodologies, SAN technologies; Hitachi storage preferred
* Must have experience with Solaris/DELL hardware
* Expert with enterprise Linux implementation technologies
* Expert knowledge of HTTP and TOMCAT application server services
* Expert level knowledge of and experience with disaster recovery design and management
* Expert level knowledge of virtualization
* Experience with script automation in bash, korn or borne shell is a must
* Experience with SAN technology and enterprise level backup software
* Experience in Oracle
* Ability and desire to train and mentor other team members
* Extremely well developed and demonstrable organizational skills
* Experience in medium to large projects using standard project management methodologies
* EXCELLENT WRITTEN and ORAL COMMUNICATION a must
