Sr. Warehouse Technician

The Opportunity:

Avantor is looking for a Sr. Warehouse Technician to perform warehouse operations such as loading/unloading trucks, stacking bags, handling product, palletizing, etc. They will also document all completed work and recording inventory data; utilizing scanners/computers as necessary.

This role will be a full-time position based out of our Suwanee, GA office. You will have the opportunity to interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of warehouse operations and promote teamwork.

What we’re looking for: 

Education: High School diploma or equivalent degree preferred.Experience: 3+ years of related experienceAdditional Qualifications: Requires good supervisory and communication skills.Familiarity with personal computers and material handling equipment is essential.Strong decision making and coaching skills and an ability to drive results.

How you will thrive and create an impact: 

Help establish work schedules. Ensure that the schedules are correctly implemented and that jobs are completed properly.Operate forklifts and hand carts. Understand and adhere to all safety policies and procedures.Apply sound communication and motivational techniques in leading, supervising, coaching and disciplining associates.Provide input into performance evaluation for recommending promotions, wage increases, associate development and terminations.Supervise checking and unloading of inbound shipments, orderly stacking of product and picking and staging of outbound shipments in accordance with high level of productivity.Verify required inbound/outbound paperwork with drivers, ensuring that all products are properly counted.Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are complete and free of damage.Complete all necessary records and reports in a timely and accurate fashion.Compute and analyze daily, weekly production metrics.Assist in physical inventories and cycle counts.Maintain product locator system.Ensure the optimal utilization of space.Rotate product as appropriate.Ensure the efficient and safe operation of material handling equipment.Maintain a clean, neat and orderly work area.Assist in maintaining warehouse security.Conduct operations in a manner that promotes safety and in accordance with OSHA and other appropriate standards.Attend warehouse planning meetings.Act as liaison between employees and management.Communicate industry and brand knowledge to associates.Performs other duties as assigned.
