Post has aggressive growth plans for BEF, highlighted by the recent deployment of capital to support innovation, marketing and manufacturing. Responsibilities 3rd shift Position Summary: This position is responsible for performing a variety of advanced mechanical maintenance service to support the plant facility. Takes a proactive approach to prevent repairs, and will install, replace and troubleshoot complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems with minimum supervision. Uses hand tools and testing instruments. Dismantles machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes. SS Line tech 2 for 3rd shift Duties and Responsibilities: Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on complex mechanical equipment and distribution systems. Fabricates and assembles equipment which may entail welding, cutting and pipe fitting. Performs emergency repairs on process equipment. Inspects facility equipment on a daily basis performing various production startup and coverage tasks. Trouble-shoots any repairs PLC, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic or hydraulic components. Uses prints, specifications, follows verbal instructions to make repairs to ordinary plumbing and electrical systems. Installs and threads pipe, performs soldering and cutting. Assists in the installation of equipment. Cleans and lubricates parts, equipment, and machinery. Follow all SQF principles pertinent to your position as specified by the SQF Practitioner. All food safety and human safety concerns need to be reported to appropriate personnel such as QA technician, Safety Manager, FSQ Manager, etc. All other duties as assigned. Knowledge: Basic electrical/mechanical knowledge required. Must be familiar with electrical schematics. Working fundamentals of troubleshooting PLC’s. Basic boiler safety knowledge. Basic welding, sanitary tig, Stick and Mig welding. Basic plumbing and HVAC knowledge. Understanding of basic lock-out, tag-out procedures. Requires a good understanding of hydraulic/pneumatic equipment. Requires judgment to make decisions regarding sequence of maintenance operations to be performed within the limits of standard practice. Ability to work in somewhat disagreeable conditions, dust, noise, fumes and vibrations. Ability to work overtime as require Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Education/Experience: High School diploma or G.E.D required: A minimum of three or more year’s industrial equipment experience required.
