SSD Failure Analysis Engineer

Our collaborative approach allows us to deliver innovative solutions and maintain strong customer trust. **Position Overview** **:** As an ORA SSD RMA Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting formal Failure Analysis (FA) on customer-returned SSDs, identifying root causes at both electrical and physical levels. You will play a key role in managing RMA critical issues, providing FA reports, and collaborating with internal teams to drive issue resolution. Additionally, you will serve as a technical interface for customer-facing teams, offering data analysis and consultation when needed. **Responsibilities** **:** + Perform electrical and mechanical failure analysis on SSD customer returns. + Provide detailed FA reports to external customers and internal stakeholders. + Manage RMA case escalations, ensuring timely communication and resolution. + Maintain and develop expertise in failure analysis techniques and methodologies. + Set up and maintain debug systems for Design of Experiments (DOE) and error duplication. + Act as an SSD interface for customer-facing teams, providing technical support and insights. **Minimum Qualifications** **:** + Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field. + 7+ years of technical experience in product engineering, system engineering, product validation, or quality. + Strong background in failure analysis and system-level testing. + Proficiency in SSD storage architectures and NAND flash memory functions. + Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. **Preferred Qualifications** **:** + Experience in the storage industry and customer interface roles. + Knowledge of PCIe, SATA, and bus tracing for system debugging. + Strong time management and project management skills. + Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous technical growth. + Flexibility to work non-standard hours and travel when required. The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is: $118,000.00 - $200,500.00 Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.
