About the job
We are seeking a Software Engineer to develop a cutting-edge data platform designed to process and extract business value from massive volumes of messaging-specific data. This position plays a critical role in building and maintaining highly scalable, reliable, and efficient systems that will empower both inbound and outbound messaging processes, as well as other internal engineering solutions. Your work will be pivotal in creating data insights interfaces for real-time decision-making, helping drive key business strategies.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
+ Design, develop, and implement robust data platform solutions tailored for high-volume messaging data.
+ Ensure the scalability and reliability of systems to handle extensive data processing demands.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data insights into various messaging stacks.
+ Optimize data architecture to improve the efficiency of data extraction and analysis.
+ Support real-time decision-making through the development of intuitive data insights interfaces.

Required:
+ Proven experience in software engineering, with a strong emphasis on building data-intensive applications.
+ Expertise in designing scalable systems capable of handling large volumes of data.
+ 3+ years of Java development experience.
+ 5+ years of experience with Big Data processing tools and frameworks such as Apache Spark, SparkSQL.
+ Experience with cloud services (AWS preferred, Google, Azure etc.)
+ Proficient in working with Key-Value, Streaming, and Search Database technologies, including AWS DynamoDB, Apache Kafka, and ElasticSearch.
+ Familiarity with data testing and verification tooling and best practices.
+ Readiness to participate in the on-call rotation.
Desired:
+ 2+ years of experience working with Apache Iceberg, AWS Lake Formation, Apache Hudi or equivalent.
+ Deep technical understanding of ETL tools, low-latency data stores, multiple data warehouses and data catalogs.
+ Demonstrated technical breadth and depth as evidenced by papers, code, and/or presentations.
+ Exposure to service-oriented architectures, microservices and REST APIs.
+ Experience with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent training, fellowship, or work experience.
Location
This role will be based remotely in Ireland.
