Enterprise Business Services @ IDC Bangalore and Chennai in India are focused on data driven, highly optimized products and implementations in the areas of Finance, Procurement, Human Resources and Retail business functions for multiple Walmart markets with open stack technologies and other ERP tools.
What you'll do:
As a Staff Software Engineer you will be a key technologist of the EBS People Tech: Payroll technology team. We are defining the leading edge of technology to provide innovative solutions to our business customers to help support the millions of Associates at Walmart. As part of Payroll technology, we have embarked on an exciting journey of modernizing and transforming the Payroll platform which supports the 2.5 million US associates.
Design and Deliver Scalable Solutions: Architect, design, build, test, and deliver highly reliable, scalable, and enterprise-grade platforms and products using advanced technology stacks, including Python, Scala, Spark, Java, React Native, Node.js, React.js, SAP systems, and Google Cloud Platform (DataProc, BigQuery).Architectural Leadership: Lead the adoption of modern architectural patterns for application modernization. Analyze gaps between current systems and emerging business needs to deliver cutting-edge, scalable designs.Drive Technical Excellence: Provide technical leadership in conducting impact analyses, performing root cause analyses (RCA), and implementing corrective actions for both immediate and long-term fixes, ensuring systems' reliability and scalability.Collaboration and Innovation: Establish strong partnerships with cross-functional teams such as Product, People API, and Workday, driving innovation and delivering on commitments to Walmart’s business goals.Operational Excellence: Set benchmarks for operational excellence, managing KPIs, delivering high-quality outcomes, mentoring team members, and presenting ideas effectively to stakeholders at all levels.Continuous Improvement: Spearhead the development and optimization of CI/CD pipelines to enable faster delivery cycles. Identify opportunities to refine and enhance the software development lifecycle with a focus on automation and efficiency.Lead and Ownership: Act as a thought leader and mentor, driving quality, scalability, and adoption of modern engineering practices across the team and organization. Shape and influence engineering culture by fostering a focus on innovation and operational excellence.What you'll bring:
Expert-Level Technical Skills: Proven expertise in programming languages including Python, Scala, Spark, and Java. Demonstrated experience in designing and developing enterprise-grade software solutions.Cloud Mastery: Extensive experience with Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, DataProc, and cloud infrastructure) and its application to large-scale enterprise systems.SAP Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of SAP enterprise systems, with hands-on experience in integration, customization, and modernization.Full-Stack Engineering Prowess: Deep understanding of front-end and back-end technologies, including frameworks and libraries like React Native, Node.js, and React.js, enabling the development of intuitive and scalable solutions.Advanced Data Engineering knowledge: Expertise in designing and managing large-scale data pipelines, ETL processes, and working with structured and unstructured data.Strategic Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of addressing complex technical challenges while anticipating long-term implications.Collaborative Leadership: Strong ability to foster collaboration across global, cross-functional teams, effectively communicating technical ideas and driving alignment.Operational Excellence Focus: Demonstrated ability to set and achieve KPIs while mentoring team members to maintain high standards of delivery and performance.Continuous Learning and Innovation: A relentless drive to stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, applying them to solve business problems and push the boundaries of innovation.
